Good News – Green Shoots - A Good Idea
We think most SMB owners are similar to us and generally optimists by nature. It is an often-noted characteristic among those who run “the engine” of the U.S. economy. But, we all know that SMB’s have faced tough recent economic times; it has not been easy. So by now we are really ready for some good news – and we have it.
Green Shoots – signs we like to see!
You may already know that “green shoots” is a term used to indicate signs of economic recovery. We like the “green shoots” just reported in the Capital One 2010 SMB Barometer report that says:
-
Nearly 80% of business owners believe that economic conditions are either improving or holding steady;
-
Some 39% report that their company’s financial situation is better than it was last year - up 11 percentage points over fourth quarter results;
-
Another 38 percent say that their organization’s finances are stable;
-
Just over two-thirds (69%) said they are looking to grow their business by increasing turnover, sales, and number of customers,
-
Another 33 percent would like to expand their premises, add new sites or move into new markets.
Good News – and just for fun!
As SMB enterprises, we are loved and trusted. Here's how we know:
-
See Bloomberg/Business Week Opinion Poll "Americas Most Trusted" - it reports that 71% of Americans say they trust small businesses. Small business reigned as “the winner” over churches, banks, media, corporations and the government.
-
A Good Idea – let’s help one and other!
We like the idea of SMB’s supporting each other; it’s a good way to operate our businesses. In that vein, we are introducing our SMB Referral Program and it’s very simple. If you refer a contact to us who becomes a client we will (1) pay a $250 “thank-you” and, (2) actively network to see if we can find a referral for your business. If you want to talk more about this program, contact us and ask for Bob to learn about the details.
